Social Benefits

 

The basic social benefits for the Israeli worker are:

1. Severance pay equivalent to one month's salary for each year of employment for workers with at least one year's seniority. 

2. Vacation – from 12 days annual vacation (for workers with one year's seniority), to 24 days per year (for workers with 14 years seniority or more). Vacation entitlement is cumulative and is subject to cash reimbursement if not fully utilized on termination of employment.

3. Sickness – a worker is entitled to 1.5 days sickness absence with pay for each working month. Payment is calculated on the basis of 100% of the worker's salary and a lower rate for the first three days of sickness.
The social benefits described above are the minimum prescribed and vary from one sector to another, dependent upon specific union agreements.
